TESTIMONIALS

Lianne & Daniel 9/8/18

The best decision we made for our wedding was using William Thomas Photography. Billy and his team were our favorite vendors that day by far. They were early and so helpful and an absolute pleasure to work with. We had so many things go wrong that day but Billy and his team were so sweet and positive and with their vibes alone we were blown away. Their energy was magical, their presence made everyone calm and comfortable. Everyone they encountered at our wedding was so impressed of how professional and patient they were. Our entire family and friends loved Billy and Maggie. We can not have imagined our wedding with out them... We just received our wedding photos yesterday and we couldn't be happier. They captured the day perfectly. We have so many favorite shots. We can not stop looking at them. Every photo is amazing and so many different styles, artistic, classic, and dramatic. We are obsessed with his work. We will treasure the memories he captured forever! I would recommend William Thomas Photography to anyone and everyone! They are truly the best photographers and people to have with you on your big day!

Domenica & Brian 10/13/18

Brian, and I got married in NYC and William Thomas Photography was the best decision we could have ever made! Billy was an absolute pleasure to work with from the very beginning. Not only is he an incredibly talented photographer, but he is also a genuinely kind and positive person! He has a wonderful way of making everyone around him feel comfortable. A few months before the wedding, Billy shot absolutely stunning photos of us in Brooklyn. He let us be ourselves and made us feel so good during our engagement shoot. Leading up to the wedding, Billy was extremely helpful and made us feel like we were the only couple he was working with. That extra care and attention really goes along way when you are trying to put all the pieces of your wedding together! As soon as Billy arrived at my getting ready space on the morning of the wedding, he made everyone feel at ease, especially me. The same is true of his brother Mike, who captured Brian’s wedding day morning. We truly appreciated Billy and Mike’s patience throughout the whole day. Every photo request we made that day, they gracefully delivered. They were always accessible and greeted everyone with a smile. It was the perfect duo of photographers for our wedding day!

Noel & Patrick 9/14/2018

Best Team Ever! We absolutely loved working with William Thomas Photography! Billy made the entire booking process easy and straightforward. He was responsive and enthusiastic from start to finish. Maggie and Mike photographed our wedding and they did a phenomenal job. Everyone said so! I was so impressed by their creative, helpful, easy-going, uncomplicated, and pleasant approach. They were not over-bearing, half of the time you forgot they were there (!) because the big and little moments never felt forced or unnatural.

Nicole & Scott 9/15/18

From the first time I spoke to Billy at William Thomas Photography I knew he was the photographer for us. He is so energetic and positive it's infectious. Personally, I’m a very self-conscious person and Billy made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera. He really understood our vision and helped capture our wedding in the most beautiful way possible. He made sure we had time to enjoy our wedding while still getting all the photos we wanted. I couldn’t be happier with how everything came out!

Ashley & Jonathan 8/18/18

We used William Thomas Photography for our August 18, 2018 wedding. We went for the package that included two photographers and one videographer. Working with Billy is literally a dream! His work speaks for itself - he is beyond talented and artistic. We love that his photos aren't the typical "oversaturated" cookie cutter wedding photos but that you really feel the life in them. He also doesn't charge per hour. Many photographers charge more money if you go beyond 8 or 10 hours but you get Billy all day - as many hours as you need start to finish for the same cost. On top of that, he is the SWEETEST human on the planet. Everyone at my wedding was absolutely obsessed with him and a few of my friends who are engaged now want to use him for their weddings as well. He sent us about 1,800 pictures from our wedding and every single one is incredible. I truly want him to photograph every life event of ours moving forward because he is that talented and now we just adore him! I wouldn't hesitate to book Billy as he will capture your day flawlessly.

What can I expect after booking?

Dope customer service and a stress free wedding day. Seriously.

We’re here to help. Communication is key. You can email, text, or call anytime if you need advice with planning your wedding day and photo sessions.

A month before your wedding or elopement, we’ll send you a brief questionnaire and schedule a call or video chat to walk through the day together.

When can I expect my super awesome photos?

You’ll receive your private gallery via winged unicorn (haha, actually through a private gallery) within 4 weeks after your wedding/engagement session/portrait session.

Can I download and print my photos?

Absolutely! Your photos will be fully edited, downloadable in hi-res jpeg files to share and print (individually, or a .zip file of the whole gallery). We never watermark your photos and you can download a print release from your client portal if your lab requests one. We also offer the option to purchase prints from our lab directly from your online gallery.

How many photographs can I expect?

Every wedding is its own unique event, but we typically deliver 1000+ images for weddings, 300+ images for your elopements and 100+ for engagement sessions.

How far in advance should I book you?

Many couples book us for their wedding or elopement months or years in advance. However, we often have short-term availability (particularly on weekdays). Drop us a line to see if we're free for your celebration!

Do I need an engagement session?

Engagement photo sessions are a fun, relaxed way to get to know each other (and for you to warm up to the camera) before your celebration. It’s also an opportunity to make creative photos without the time restraints and other considerations of a typical wedding day.

They’re definitely not mandatory, though. My team and I have met many of our couples for the first time on their wedding day. We’ll become instant besties in either scenario.

All of our wedding collections include a complimentary NYC engagement photo session, and we include a 50% discount if you’d like to add an engagement session to your elopement or intimate wedding coverage.

How far in advance should I book my engagement photo session?

We recommend that you contact us at least 4-6 weeks in advance to schedule you engagement photo session

Are you insured?

You betcha! We’re happy to send a Certificate of Insurance to your venue upon request.

What happens in case of emergency?

We know that your wedding is the most important day in the world to you and we wouldn’t miss it for anything. We take painstaking care of ourselves (our equipment and vehicles too!) to make sure we don’t miss any events. In over a decade as a wedding photographer we haven’t missed a single event. If there’s an emergency and one of us can’t make it, don’t worry, we’ll make sure a fully staffed, amazing team is still with you on your wedding day. We are also proud members of Fearless Photographers, WPPI, and the Hustle+Flow community which have deep local networks of amazing photographers and cinematographers to contact as a third line of defense.
No matter what, you will be taken care of.

Travel? Destination weddings?

We will travel everywhere! We’re based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and love to roam. There’s no additional fee for destination weddings. We simply ask you to cover flights and accommodations.

What inspires you?

Just about everything! My amazing client-besties (that’s you!) are the biggest source of inspiration because much of the work I produce is a reflection of your love, quirks and personal style. No two weddings are alike, and that’s the coolest thing ever.

My incredible partner, Emily, and our fur-family of 3 rescued cats are my inspiration to be the best version of myself every day.

Visually, I take inspiration from classic and modern art (you can find us at The Met on a regular basis) and also cinema in a huge way. I’d like to think Stanley Kubrick and Quentin Tarantino (and the the talented DPs who brought their visions to screen) are as much an influence in my work as Irving Penn and Elliott Erwitt.

Our whole team shares similar creative inspiration.

How many weddings have you photographed?

Over 500 and counting. Every single one was awesome.

What's your approach?

We approach each photography experience with an open mind, open heart, sympathetic attitude and emotionally engaged soul.
We’re there for you to lean on throughout your celebration. Pinning boutonnieres, sewing buttons, band-aiding blistered heels and smiling all day long.
Our head’s always on a swivel to catch mom crying or dad doing a backflip on the dance floor.
Our role and level of interaction ebbs and flows throughout your celebration. We can play the role that we need to play, reading each moment’s pulse. We’ll be editorial photographer, portrait artist, macro photographer, film director and more while always staying engaged with our primary role as photojournalist.
We’ll give clear, friendly direction or fade into the wallpaper when needed. Expect lots of high-fives and hugs (unless you’re not the touchy-feely type -- that’s cool too).

What’s your editing style?

I edit with my heart. Some images exist to tell a story. Others stand alone as an awesome piece of art for your home (and Instagram bragging rights -- let’s make your friends jealous!).

It starts with culling the perfect selection of images to tell your wedding story. I spare you the eyes-half-shut expressions and the many images of my feet clicked by accident while pretending I know how to dance. Possibly on a table.

From there, I process your photographs one-by-one to bring out their full potential. I almost always have the end-result in mind as I capture photos, so editing is a rewarding process where I can bring this vision to life.

I prefer muted tones and tactile, matte film-like color palettes with some grainy black-and-white mixed in for drama. My photography and editing is always evolving.

The very best way to see my editing style is to take a look at my portfolio.
